The Vista Murrieta Boys basketball team turned back a determined late charge by Tahquitz and defeated the Titans in overtime 67-65 Friday night. There were four ties and four lead changes. The victory improved Vista Murrieta’s record to 6-2 as they prepare for Wednesday’s home game with Valley View.

The Broncos trailed 41-28 at the half but exploded for 22 points in the third period. Vista Murrieta held the Titans to one score in that period to make the score 43-50. Tahquitz would tie the game 62-62 in the fourth period to send the game into overtime. The Bronco defense stiffened and Vista Murrieta squeaked by with a 67-65 victory.

Senior Spencer Benson led the Bronco attack scoring 24 points (9/9 from FT) against the Titans. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Fellow senior Jacob Perry scored 12 (five rebounds, three steals) and sophomore Austin Beech had nine points in the victory.
