School boundaries

Friday, December 20th, 2013
Issue 51, Volume 17.

The way our TVUSD school district is set up is unusual. There are people who live close to Chaparral High School and have to go to Temecula Valley High School. It is that way between all three Temecula high schools. This is inconvenient for not only the students, but the parents or guardians as well. I understand this is why there is busing, but some people may not be able to take the bus for many reasons. I believe that many of these problems can be fixed by redesigning the district lines. The boundaries may be made to help the problem of overcrowding, but all the schools are overcrowded. Maybe fixing the boundaries could help this a little more. Maybe by Advertisement

having a circle that is a certain amount of miles around the schools could help figure out what houses are in the school zones and the ones that interlope or donít make it in a circle can choose. That or we could make a new school for all the "French Valley" students. There are many students who live in that area so it would be very beneficial for those students. Transfers could still be allowed, but it would be legitimate reasons. Some peopleís transfers are not accepted because they are late, but someone who transfers for sports reasons is accepted. It is not fair to the people who want to transfer because of convenience but are not allowed.
