Menifee Checkpoint Results in Four Arrests

MENIFEE - Two suspected drunken drivers were among four people sheriff's deputies arrested during an overnight drunken driving checkpoint in Menifee, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The checkpoint began at 8 p.m. Saturday night at the intersection of Scott and Haun roads, and 1,403 vehicles passed through, the department reported.

field sobriety tests. Two drivers flunked the test and were arrested for suspicion of drunken driving.

One passenger in one vehicle was arrested for alleged public intoxication, sheriff's authorities said.

A fourth person was suspected to have been driving with a suspended license but was later arrested on a warrant for domestic violence.

Sixteen vehicular citations were issued, the sheriff's department reported.
