Murrieta Valley Alumni Missy Lopez was selected to the All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Conference team recently. She was also named the Conferenceís Goalie of the Year.

Lopez played goalie for Mt. San Jacinto College. The Eagles finished the season with a 12-7-2 record and made the conference playoffs.

"I felt really surprised to get picked second-team all-league, and honored to be noticed" said Lopez. "Goalie of the year came as an even bigger shock to me. I have to give most of the credit to my defense, they make us keepers look good. We may get the stats, but they do just as much of the work. Iím very thankful to have such a hard working team of girls. We want each other to succeed and be honored and scouted just as much as we want the accolades ourselves".

Lopez had only 22 goals scored against her this season. She was credited for 133 saves overall this season.

Lopez plans to return to Mt. San Jacinto for her second season. She is currently busy with the teamís off-season work out regime and is looking to jump right back into it next year. The goal for 2014 for Lopez and her teammates is to work towards winning the championship and have a long run in playoffs.
