Pedestrian sustains major injuries in Lake Elsinore traffic accident

SHERIFF PRESS RELEASE - On Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10:49 PM, officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to a single vehicle/pedestrian traffic collision, with major injuries, at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Joy in Lake Elsinore.

The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a blue, 2000, Dodge Caravan, was traveling north on Riverside Drive., at the intersection of Joy when a pedestrian crossed the street in front of the vehicle striking the passengerís side fender. Intoxication does not appear to be a factor.

The pedestrian was taken to a local area hospital with what is described as major injuries. Advertisement

The driver sustained no injuries.

Northbound traffic from Lincoln on Riverside Drive, was closed to traffic at 10:00 PM, and re-opened at 2 AM on Tuesday, December 24, 2013.

The victimís identity is unknown. He is described as a transient white male adult, 25-35 years old, short dark hair, stocky build, 5í10, wearing black New Balance tennis shoes, and dark clothing with a dark brown blanket wrapped around him.
