Torre Pines Holiday Classic: Murrieta Valley Wins 51-45 Over Mira Costa

Temecula Valley Falls to Seattle Roosevelt 58-49

The Nighthawks and Mustangs were locked in a 20-20 tie at the half when Murrieta exploded for 20 points in the third period to pull away with the victory. Thomas Alexandre scored 11 of his 20 points in the third as he rallied the Nighthawks as they advanced in the Torre Pines Holliday Classic.

The Nighthawks played tough in the final period and held off the Mustangs to claim the 51-45 victory. Tyler Bilton scored 13 points for Murrieta Valley. Scoring leaders for the Mustangs were Justin Strings with 16 points and Jake Feder with 10.

Murrieta Valley played San Diego Serra in a quarterfinal Friday night at La Jolla at 8:35 p.m. results to follow.

The Roughriders made the trip down from Seattle and proceeded to stymie the Golden Bears. The first half ended deadlocked with both teams scoring 23 apiece. The Golden Bears kept it close but Roosevelt pulled away in the fourth quarter outscoring Temecula Valley 21-17 to capture the win.

Justin Simon led Temecula Valle with 22 points. Cam Haslam was Roosevelt’s leading scorer with 24 points. Temecula Valley is now 7-3 this season.

Temecula’s Rancho Christian High School blasted past Rancho Buena Vista 73- 63. Rancho Christian is now 10-1. Jamal Brower scored 19 for the Eagles. Trace Redfield Terrel Fuller both scored 15points for Rancho Christian. Ja’mel McMahon added 11 for the Eagles.
