Where are you sitting right now reading this article? Is this the place and the time you imagined yourself being ten years ago, five years ago or even a year ago?

Chances are you probably didnít even imagine yourself reading this article five minutes ago. No matter where you are in your life right now youíre probably not where you had originally imagined yourself being. The reason you couldnít is because of one wordÖ change!

Change is really one of the most exhilarating and scariest parts of our future. Thatís because itís always full of surprises. Sometimes itís like a lurking ninja or boogieman hiding in the shadows waiting to pounce and causing us great fear and anxiety. Other times itís like a surprise engagement or a visit from a close friend weíve always wanted to see filling us with joy, encouragement, and hope for the future.

The difficult part is we rarely know when itís going to come, how itís going to come or even if itís going to be good or bad. But the one thing we all know is that change is coming.

We can imagine all the positive changes we want for our lives. But what if we did something bolder this year and gave up the changes we imagined for our lives to the God who has a greater imagination than we do? The God who wants to bring such awesome change in our lives that he says, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)

How can we do that? How can we take the change we imagined and begin to live the good change God imagines for us? The first thing we can do is talk to God. Tell him where you are and how you feel. Let him know your fears and failures. Ask him to show you what he has planned for your life.

It also might be a good idea to ask to be part of his plans, instead of asking him to be part of your

plans.

The next thing we can do is to begin reading Godís road map. Itís called the Bible. What youíll find is sixty-six books full of people just like you and me who ended up living lives they never could have imagined. Lives full of

unpredictable change and insurmountable odds. They are stories full of practical life lessons on how to deal with change.

When you begin talking to God and reading his road map your life will begin to change. It will change from the life you want into the

life God wantsÖ and he always plans better change than we do. Imagine that!
