The CIF Polls have been released and Temecula Valley has been ranked 5th in the CIF 1A Division. The Golden Bears are 12-3 and looking to upset defending Southwestern League Champion Great Oak for the title. Temecula Valley’s quest begins this evening at 7pm as they take on Vista Murrieta at home. The Broncos are 9-6 and looking to upset the Bears path to the title.

In the CIF 2A division polls, Elsinore is ranked ninth and Murrieta Valley tenth. The Tigers are 13-4 and coming off a convincing 76-42 thrashing of Paloma Valley in the opening round of Sunbelt league play. Elsinore will travel to Lakeside to take on the Lancers Wednesday night. The Lakeside is 6-12 after narrowly beating Temescal Canyon 58-56 Saturday.

Murrieta Valley finds itself with an 11-4 record. The Nighthawks lost to Elsinore 69-62 last week and are looking for redemption tonight. It will be tough though. Murrieta Valley will host Great Oak tonight in it’s league opener.

The two teams last played in the Championship final match in this year’s Night Hawk Classic. The Nighthawks squeaked by the Wolfpack 59—57. Great Oak is 11-5 this season.

In other Southwestern league action, the 10-7 Chaparral Pumas host the 9-7 Rams from Murrieta Mesa. The Pumas have been averaging 56.8 points a game this year and the Rams just under 53 points. This one should be a thriller.

All games start at 7pm. Come out and support your local High School and catch some exciting basketball.
