Issue 04, Volume 18.

MURRIETA - A man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend at a San Jacinto home was charged today with involuntary manslaughter.

Jonathan Michael Delgado, 23, was arrested Thursday night after allegedly killing 20-year-old Kristal Fesher at a home in the 1000 block of Falcon Court.

Along with the manslaughter count, which carries a maximum four-year prison sentence, Delgado is charged with recklessly discharging a firearm, as well as sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations.

The defendant, who's being held in lieu of $200,000 bail at the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, is slated to make his initial court Advertisement

appearance this afternoon at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

According to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Jim Erickson, deputies were called to the Falcon Court address to investigate reports of a shooting and found the mortally wounded young woman and Delgado at the scene.

Fesher was taken to Hemet Valley Medical Center, where she died less than an hour later.

Deputies arrested Delgado on suspicion of murder. But after the case was submitted to the District Attorney's Office for review, prosecutors decided that a murder charge was not justifiable given the circumstances of the case, which were not disclosed.
