CIF Boys Basketball Polls Released


Great Oak, Temecula Valley, Murrieta Valley and Elsinore Recognized

The Great Oak Wolfpack finally received the recognition denied by the CIF SS pollsters earlier in the season. The Wolfpack broke into the top 20 and are ranked 16th in the CIF SS 1AA Division. Great Oak has a 14-5 record overall and is 3-0 in league play.

Two more Southwestern teams earned top spots in their respective divisions. The Golden Bears are ranked fourth in the 1A division while the Nighthawks are slotted in the 12th spot in the 2AA Division. Temecula Valley is 15-4 and undefeated in league play. They face Great Oak tonight at home to see who istop dog in the Southwestern league.

Murrieta Valley’s record for the season is 13-6 and they are 2-1 in league. They face a tough and determined Chaparral tonight.

The Sunbelt League has one team ranked this season. Elsinore claims the 7th spot in the CIF SS 2AA Division. The Tigers are 15-5 this year and are 3-1 in league play having dropped a heartbreaker to Perris Monday 60-57. They play Heritage tomorrow at 7pm.

All teams in the Southwestern league will be participating in the 3ed annual Coaches for Cancer promotion this evening. Heritage and Elsinore will represent the Sunbelt league tomorrow.
