tests, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.

Of the six people found to be driving under the influence, four were driving impaired from alcohol and two were driving impaired from drug use, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Jay Strang.

Strang said the checkpoint was conducted to curtail the number of alcohol- and drug-related accidents that occur on the road.

The saturation patrol was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
