Students from Elsinore High School with moderate to severe disabilities brought family and friends out to have dinner and dance the night away at the Diamond Club in Lake Elsinore on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The Winter Social event is organized by Elsinore High School special education teachers Dawn Gilders and Maria Llaneza.

"Being a parent of a special needs child is both stressful and time consuming," said Gilders. "Our Winter Social invites both parents Advertisement

and siblings of our students to get together after the holidays and spend a nice stress-free night with their student."

After dinner, students laughed and danced with their friends and family to disco tunes played by the band Vitae.

Students who have already graduated from Elsinore High come back to the Winter Social event for the fun it brings them.

Gilders added, "It is an event that is looked forward to all year long."
