Man arrested stealing prescription medication

MENIFEE - SHERIFF PRESS RELEASE-On Monday, February 10, 2014, at 8:09 PM, officers from the Menifee Police Department responded to a commercial burglary at the Vons grocery store, located in the 27000 block of Sun City Boulevard, in the City of Menifee.

Store employees reported that the pharmacy was closed and an unknown male suspect was inside the pharmacy stealing prescription medication. Officers arrived in minutes and found a male attempting to flee the store. The male was detained without incident and identified as Scott Stivers, a 31-year-old resident of Menifee. Officers conducted an investigation and determined Stivers forced entry into the pharmacy and stole prescription medication. Officers found Stivers with large quantities of prescription medication, as well as burglary tools. Stivers was arrested for commercial burglary and will be booked into a local jail.
