The girls’ varsity basketball team from Great Oak had only three seniors recognized at Senior Night, a good sign for the Wolfpack future. The Great Oak team had little trouble with the undersized Temecula Valley team as they came out shooting, leading 21-6 at the end of the opening period. Senior Abby Welch scored eight and Mikayla Williams had six.

The second quarter was more of the same as eight TV turnovers gave the fast-breaking Wolfpack offense more opportunities to score. Senior Roya Rustamzada accounted for ten points.; Welch added another seven. The score was 49-17 at halftime.

The final score was 66-28 Great Oak. Welch led all scorers with 17; Rustamzada had 13; Williams had 12.

Alexis Collins was leading scorer for the Lady Golden Bears with 11.

Temecula Valley (11-14, 0-9) travels to Murrieta Valley (14-11, 3-6) for their final game. Murrieta Valley was on the short end of 46-33 score against Chaparral.

Great Oak (19-3, 7-2) will finish the regular season at Murrieta Mesa (13-12, 3-6). Mesa lost tonight to Vista Murrieta 53-34.
