PERRIS - A 68-year-old grandmother in Perris suffered bites to her face and arms when her son-in-law's pit bull attacked her as she exercised, a county spokesman said today.

First responders were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. Friday to the 22900 block of Betty Road, in an unincorporated part of Perris. Paramedics treated the woman and took her to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley, Riverside County Animal Control Services spokesman John Welsh said.

A medical condition was not disclosed but Welsh described the victim's injuries as major. Friday night's incident marked the second time a dog attack was reported in less than a week, Welsh said.

identified. The dog's owner, Edward Chavez, told an animal control officer he heard his son yell for help when the male pit bull jumped on top of his grandmother and attack her in the family back yard, Welsh said.

It was not certain how the animal got loose since it was chained up. Chavez was cited for having the dog tethered and the animal was released to animal control officers to have it euthanized, Welsh said.

On Tuesday a 53-year-old Lake Elsinore man was attacked by his dog, his roommate's dog and possibly a third dog. Those dogs like the pit bull involved in Friday night's incident were not sterilized, Welsh said.

Seems like this story and others similar continues every week, week after week. We have a neighbor at the end of the street with 2 pit-bulls and they scare the h*ll out of me just seeing them when I go for my daily walk.

The only solution is for Cities, Counties and States to ban Pit Bulls and mixed breed Pits.
I love dogs but lets face the facts:
Pit Bulls kill their owners.
They kill their owners children.
They kill the owners neighbors.
If you want to own a dog there are many breeds to choose from that don't systematically kill.
I recommend everyone contact their Representation, and both Senators on their official web site and let them know you don't want to be a Pit Bull's next victim.

Domesticated dog or all breeds are dangerous! Dogs have NO fear of humans and will bite. A dogs bite can cause such damage in a matter of seconds. Dog owners are ignorant people with little regard to those around them that are would be victims of those animals.

Please State Facts about Breeds if you will be making remarks on Specifics!!! state the TRUE facts before the mouth diarrhea comes out.... technically there is NO breed recognized as "Pit Bull"

ALL DOGS CAN KILL Raise the Dog Right and make sure you do not have any inbreeding this may also effect the dogs attitude (Scientifically Proven) and you will jot have a prob. there ARE OTHER breeds that have Higher statics than an American Stafford Terrier... for EXP.

Golden Retrievers (Americas lovable dog)
had a higher bite rate than an American Stafford Terrier , Hence people EDUCATE YOURE MIND!!!!!!

Dogs should be treated as extensions of their owners; anytime a dog attacks somebody, it should be treated as an attack by the owner!
If your dog kills someone, you should prepare yourself for the death penalty!

@ 'hates Ignorance' - funny, I haven't read any articles that I can remember about Golden Retrievers attacking a human, EVER! I am not saying it hasn't happened, but it sure hasn't happened around here!
Everytime a pit attacks an elderly woman, child, or other person, the defenders of these killers come out and act like their is some kind of conspiracy against them! B.S.!
Anyway, it doesn't matter WHAT breed of dog you have, if it attacks somebody, YOU should pay the price as if you had premeditated the crime because the dog was in your control, and you allowed it to happen!!!

My Chihuahua is incapable of killing a human. She may be able to attack a Barbie doll. Seriously people quit saying all dogs are dangerous!!

@ Zooki Funny you should read more about it! VERY EDUCATIONAL! AGREE expense of the owner but DO NOT be Ignorant any any specific breed! the reasoning to NO ONE KNOWING any other breed may attack owner is because some ONLY READ whats GIVEN and DO NOT READ on EDUCATING themselves on the TRUTH let me Guess you're probably a Sea-world advocate as well..... Things haven't happened around YOU that YOU KNOW OF READ AND LOOK INTO MORE THINGS in you're neighborhood you will be surprised that's a Promise!

ITS NOT A CONSPIRACY IF IT IS THE TRUTH!!!!

Turn dog owner over to Chinese Death Camp where rumour has it that one method of death Is where they throw detainees/prisoners in pits filled with a pack of feral starving dogs, .that eat the carcass clean..and naturally, eventually devour the skeletal remains.

Guess, China has this one right? The dog breed, you ask? Toy poodles straight from the groomer all puffy. ..but nonetheless, hungry, apparently...that's what I hesr...can't verify, though....as ingo release is State Controlled.
