The Temecula Longhorns Baseball Academy, a Non-Profit Organization that was founded in 2004, is providing a Baseball Camp on Februray 23rd, 2014 for youth baseball players of all ages.

The camp will be from 9am - 2pm at the Murrieta Mesa High School baseball fields and will include instruction from over 16 coaches from the local area. There will be special guest appearances by former MLB Players Derrel Thomas of the Dodgers and James Lofton. The camp will include hitting, fielding, throwing, base running and catching for players striving to get the next level. The cost of the camp is $75.00 and each participant will receive a t-shirt and the opportunity for autographs with the special guests.

Some of the proceeds are designated to go to the Temecula Youth Baseball programs new Champions Division (formally known as the Challenger Division of Temecula Valley Little League), which provides Temecula's mentally and physically challenged youth a place where they can participate in an athletic environment at their level of comfort and ability and provides an opportunity for them to participate in America's favorite pastime.

"Last year our 10u Maroon team was able to shadow a team from the Challengers Division and to this day, each of those kids tells me how much they enjoyed being on the field with other kids that had the passion and love for baseball as they did and though there were things that kept them from playing baseball at the same level as most kids this age, I personally have never seen our team enjoy themselves on a baseball field as those boys did that day," said the General Manager of the Academy David Bodendorf.

"That is the inspiration for the Diamond Skills Camp. Our Mission is to develop kids that want to play baseball/softball at a higher level, experience tough competition and have the chance to play high school baseball."

The Longhorns anticipate this to be a great day of learning, meeting new friends and supporting the kids of the future! Visit to learn more about the DIAMOND SKILLS CAMP and to register today or contact David Bodendorf at 951-212-0111 for more information and sponsorship opportunities.
