RIVERSIDE - A parolee accused of abducting and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old runaway girl in Riverside was being held without bail today.

Eric Dean Boettcher, 34, of Jurupa Valley is being held at the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside on suspicion of aggravated sexual assault of a child, sodomy of a minor, lewd acts on a child, along with numerous related allegations.

According to Riverside police, an 11-year-old girl ran away from home last Thursday. Minutes later, as she walked along a roadway, a man later identified as Boettcher stopped his gray pickup and asked the youth if she wanted a ride, which she accepted, said police Lt. Victor Williams.

"The suspect subsequently took the juvenile to an uninhabited area and sexually assaulted her," Williams alleged. "The victim was then driven around the Riverside area and Advertisement

eventually taken to a motel in Corona, where she was given drugs and sexually assaulted."

On Saturday, Boettcher allegedly drove the girl to a deserted parking lot and let her out, after which she walked to a nearby police station and revealed what had happened to her, according to Williams.

Detectives with the police department's Sexual Assault & Child Abuse unit initiated an investigation that pointed to Boettcher as the alleged perpetrator, Williams said.

The suspect was located Tuesday on Bain Street in Jurupa Valley, where he was arrested without incident.

Anyone with information about the investigation was urged to call Detective Rita Cobb at (951) 353-7120, or Detective Laura Ellefson at (951) 353- 7126.

According to court records, Boettcher has prior felony convictions for grand theft, stalking and illegal possession of a controlled substance.
