Sunbelt League Teams Advance to Round Two of the CIF SS Basketball Playoffs


Perris and Elsinore Advance in the Boys While the Lakeside Girls Get Ready for Round 2

Round Two of the CIF Southern Section Boys Basketball Playoffs are scheduled for 7pm Tuesday night. The Elsinore Tigers and the Panthers from Perris will be representing the Southwestern League.

Elsinore will travel to Claremont and will face the Wolfpack. Claremont placed third in the Sierra league and is coming off a 63-58 victory over Cajon. The Tigers fist round game ended in a convincing 62-42 win over Vista del Lago. Elsinore competes in Division 2.

Perris heads into round two of the Division 1A playoffs after defeating Alta Loma 65-47. The Panthers are the Sunbelt League Champions and will travel to play Royal HS in Simi Valley. Royal is an At large team from the Marmonte league. The Highlanders slid past Camarillo 60-57 last week.

In the Girls 3AA Division #2-seed Lakeside will be in Tustin on Wednesday. The Lancers advanced into the second round with a big 69-43 victory over Wilson HS. The Tustin Tillers are 18-10 overall and defeated South Hills 51-30.

All games are at 7pm.
