Two students were cited for ditching school during a daytime truancy sweep in Eastvale, a corporal said today.

Sheriff's deputies started their six-hour operation at 8 a.m. Friday and fanned out to parks, shopping centers and even washes in search of students who never showed up to class, or left school without permission, Riverside County sheriff's Cpl. Robert Martinez said.

The deputies caught the students at an undisclosed location and cited them, Martinez said.
