Three shows left for ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ at Elsinore High

Issue 11, Volume 18.

LAKE ELSINORE – Elsinore High School is currently running "The Phantom of the Opera," with the last three shows on Thursday (March 13), Friday (March 14) and Saturday (March 15). Several of the roles, including the two main leads (The Phantom and Christine Daae) are double-cast, allowing more of the talented students to participate.

Page Cardoza, of Wildomar, and Alex Landau, of Canyon Lake, share the roles of The Phantom and Ubaldo Piangi, a far less difficult singing role which they each play on their "off"-Phantom nights.

Emily Rosales, of Wildomar, and Menifee resident Rachael Finewood portray Christine, and they are members of the ensemble on their off-nights. Other shared roles include Karina Rios and Katie Annis as Madame Giry, and Samantha Vasquez and Makenna Diegelman as Meg Giry.

Derek Lee (Monsieur Firmin), Robyn Thomas (Madame André), Scot Struble (Raoul), and Lyndsay Swann (Carlotta) are in the remaining major roles.

performers include Sam Hattersley (Joseph Buquet & Monsieur Reyer), Zeke Miera (Auctioneer, Monsieur Lefevre & Passarino), Tessa Adamson (Wardrobe Mistress), Kiara Price (Madame Firmin), Kelsey Zimmerman (Princess), Andriena Napoles (Innkeeper’s Wife), Sophia Muñoz (Lead Dancer & Marksman), Devin Planas (Porter & Fop), Sierra Dobbie (2 Epicene people), Ceeja Barr (Fire Marshal), Crystal Valerio (Fire Marshal), and Kelly Sund & Becky Hawkins (ensemble members).

EHS drama teacher and director of the musical, Leslie Vecchione, has done an amazing job with a small number of performers in a relatively short time span.

Rehearsals, which were only conducted after school, started in January. Everyone worked hard to bring The Phantom of the Opera to the stage quickly. There are even some pretty dazzling special effects which you might not expect to see at a high school musical.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the box office. To reserve tickets, contact the school at (951) 253-7200.
