Jurupa Valley police officers arrested five people Friday during a probation check of a residence that led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia and concentrated cannabis oil among a number of other things, a Sheriff's official reported.

The officers were assigned to do a probation check of a residence in the 4100 block of Golden West Avenue in Jurupa Valley and when they arrived there they discovered methamphetamine, processed marijuana, and narcotics paraphernalia, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's report.

They also discovered a lab used for the production of a concentrated cannabis oil known as "honey oil" or "wax", according to Sgt. Andrew Elia.

The concentrated cannabis oil has increased levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) as compared to regular marijuana. THC is the chemical within the drug which gives users their high, according to a report from the National Traffic Safety Highway administration.

The report said that dry marijuana might have THC levels of only one to five percent whereas honey oil can have THC levels of up to 20 percent. Advertisement
