Vista Murrieta traveled to Great Oak to face the Wolfpack for the first time this season. The Broncos got on the board immediately scoring a run in the first and two more in the second inning to take the lead 3-0. Wolfpack pitcher Sophomore Zack Knoll settled down and proceeded to shut down the Vista Murrieta attack. Knoll earned his third win of the season.

Great Oak came back for 2-runs in the second and three more in the third inning to take the lead away from the Broncos and cruise to victory as the Wolfpack defense took several Vista Murrieta scoring opportunities away.

The Bronco’s Chance Hroch was slapped with the loss. Hroch was cruising along when he got into a jam in the third and loaded the bases and gave up the go ahead runs. He is 3-1 this season.

Senior catcher Chandler Wagoner went 2-3 and hit a clutch double for the Wolfpack. Senior Brett Dillon and junior Mitch Hayes also doubled for Great Oak.

Coltin Gerhart went 2-for-4 with a double and an 2-RBIs for the Broncos. Senior JT McClennan hit a double and sophomore Jack Moberg had an RBI.

Great Oak improves to 9-1overall and 2-0 in league with yesterday’s win. Vista Murrieta is 7-2 this season and winless in league play. The Broncos were ranked number-2 in the CIF SS Division 2 Baseball polls this week behind TVHS and ahead of number-7 Great Oak. The Wolfpack has shaken things up in Division-2 by beating both of their higher ranked Southwestern League rivals in the past four days.

The Wolfpack will be at Chaparral tomorrow to take on the Pumas. Vista Murrieta will be at home to host the Nighthawks from Murrieta Valley. Both games start at 3:30pm.
