Senior shortstop Kyle Pantier went 3-for 4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Golden Bears over Chaparral in their first Southwestern League game of the season. He was named player of the game by TVHS Coach Tony Nobiensky.

Temecula Valley got off to a 1-run lead in the second inning only to have the Pumas tie it with one of their own in the third. The Golden Bears exploded for four in their half of the inning to take a 5-1 lead and never looked back. TVHS would score three more in the fifth and twice in the sixth to win 10-2.

Senior Brandon Koch was the winning pitcher for Temecula Valley. It was his third victory this season. Chaparral’s Senior Jackson Schlekeway was the loser.

Plantier paced the TVHS attack and had plenty of help. Senior AJ Sawyer went 2-for-4 with a home run and 2-RBIs while fellow senior Drew Seelman also went 2-for-4 with a triple, double and and RBI. Junior David Maldonado doubled and had a run batted in. Chaparral senior catcher Justin Toerner went 2-for-4 for the Pumas.

The Golden Bears improve to 7-1 on the season and are 2-0 in league play. They will be at Murrieta Mesa tomorrow to take on the Rams who are 1-0 in league. The Pumas will host the Wolfpack who are 2-0 in league. Game time is 3:30 pm.
