Jurupa Valley: Police arrest three for animal cruelty in connection with cockfight operation

A sheriff's deputy on patrol spotted a suspected cockfighting operation at a Jurupa Valley home today and arrested three people.

The deputy pulled up to the home on 34th Street, east of Wallace Street, at about 10:30 a.m. and discovered between 50 to 60 roosters at the location, Riverside County sheriff's Advertisement

Deputy Michael Vasquez said.

A number of people bolted from the scene but other deputies who arrived managed to catch three suspects, Vasquez said.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of cruelty to animals and other offenses in connection with the cockfighting ring, Vasquez said.
