HS Softball: Chaparral Wins Big over Murrieta Mesa 11-1


Senior Karissa Frazier Pitches a Two Hitter Against the Rams

The bottom of the Puma batting order provided the punch against Murrieta in Tuesdays Southwestern League opener against the Rams Mesa. Senior Karissa Frazier in the eight spot was 2-for-3 with 3-RBIs and a run scored. Junior Cheyenne Blazer, batting in at the bottom of the order, lead the Puma offensive attack with a 3-for-4 performance and knocked in four big runs.

Juniors Nicole Johnson and Mariah Young both went 3-for-4 with three runs scored for Chaparral. Frazier pitched a two hitter through six innings and picked up her first league win of the season.

Freshman Victoria Carr was the Ramís losing pitcher. Carr was 1for-3 and drove in Murrieta Mesaís only run in the fourth inning. Junior Alexis Watts had the other hit and scored the Ram run.

The Pumas exploded for six runs in the first inning and then would score three more in the fourth. The game was called after Chaparral rallied again in the sixth and brought two more across the plate.

The two teams will lock horns again Thursday at 3:30pm. The game will be played ar Murrieta Mesa HS. Chaparral improved to 15-7 with their first league win and the Rams are now 8-9 this season.
