PERRIS - A man suspected of holding up a Metro PCS store in Perris using a fake gun remained in custody today, records showed.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday to the 2500 block of North Perris Boulevard to deal with a man reported to be brandishing what looked like a handgun inside the business and demanding cash from a store clerk, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Bob McCalmont said.

The suspect, Andrew Zaragoza Lowe, 27, ran from the location in a westerly direction but was caught by deputies who saw he matched the description they were given of the suspect. They detained Lowe long enough for a witness to identify him as the suspected robber and seized the replica handgun, McCalmont said.

Lowe was arrested and later booked on suspicion of second degree armed robbery and other crimes, including seven misdemeanor counts of driving with a suspended license. Lowed remained in jail today in lieu of $30,000 bail, records showed.
