HS Softball: Nighthawks capitalize on two Big innings, beat Rams 21-1

Murrieta Valley exploded for 21 runs in two innings as the Nighthawks took control of the game and ran away with the victory over the Rams. It was the first meeting of these two cross town rivals this season.

The Nighthawks scored eight runs in the second inning and then proceeded to put1m the game out of reach in the third with 13 huge runs. The Rams mustered their only score in the bottom of the inning but it was all Nighthawks Tuesday afternoon.

Junior pitcher Olivia Sanchez threw a three hitter and picked up the win for Murrieta Valley. She also went 3-for-5 with a home run, scoring three times and had two RBIs. Amber Nelson and Amber Bishop also homered and had three hits apiece for the Nighthawks. Nicole Sims and Stephanie Moreno also had three hits each for MVHS.

7The Rams used three pitchers in the game but it was freshman Victoria Carr that was hit with the loss. Alisia Tana-Torresscored the lone Ram run on Taylor Willis’ RBI.

The two teams will play again Thursday at Murrieta Valley. Game time is 3:30pm.
