Small Brush Fire in Lake Elsinore Contained

LAKE ELSINORE - A slow-moving brush fire charred six acres near Lake Elsinore, and was contained overnight.

The blaze was reported at 10:17 p.m. Friday near Macy and Orange streets. The fire initially burned about two-acres southwest of Highway 74.

The blaze slowly grew to six acres by 12:17 a.m.. Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

the fire by 6 a.m. No injuries were reported, Hendrickson said.

The cause was under investigation.


LAKE ELSINORE FIRE REPORTED

LAKE ELSINORE - More than 50 firefighters were battling a small, slow-moving brushfire above Lake Elsinore tonight.

The two-acre fire was reported around 10:15 p.m. at the western end of the lake, Melody Hendrickson of CalFire said.

The fire was burning through heavy fuel, but no structures were threatened, Hendrickson said.
