Issue 19, Volume 18.

LAKE ELSINORE - On Tuesday, May 6 at 3:25 p.m., Lake Elsinore and Wildomar police officers responded to a reported traffic collision at the intersection of Corydon and Cereal Road, in the City of Lake Elsinore.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda Accord failed to yield the right away to oncoming traffic as it attempted to merge onto northbound Corydon Road.

As a result, the Honda collided with a Toyota Tacoma traveling southbound on Corydon Road causing a temporary road blockage.

Although officers arrived within minutes of receiving the call, two male Hispanic occupants of the Honda fled on foot prior to officers' arrival on scene.

With witness information and a description of the driver, officers were able to locate and later identify the driver Advertisement

as Gilardo Garcia Lopez, age 21.

Lopez was detained near the intersection of Mission Trail and Corydon Road. Lopez was taken into custody for felony hit and run causing injury to another party.

Lopez was booked into Southwest Detention Center and bail has not been determined at this time.

Drug and alcohol use was not a factor in the collision. The unidentified passenger was not located. Both subjects are residents of Temecula.

Two of the three female occupants of the Toyota are Lake Elsinore residents who sustained minor to moderate injuries. Only one was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to call Deputy Petersen at the Lake Elsinore Station by calling (951) 245-3300.

Cops say drugs and alchohol were not a factor..... Maybe not. But being in the country illegally is highly likely! If they werent here illegally this would have never happened. Why, why and how much more do American citizens have to pay for the bad deeds of illegal aliens? All in the name of political correctness? Politics is worth risking American lives over?
I can already tell, somebody reading this is going to claim Im racis' and i should my bigot mouth. I say GO RIGHT AHEAD. I DONT GIVE A CARP!!! Your namecalling wont bother me.
The border needs to be as secure as fort knox. Against any and all that would try to skirt our immigration system and come here the right way. GET A VISA! I have no sympathy for illegal alien lawbreaking responsibility ducking welfare scamming excuses for human beings.
And dont start with that old argument that they are just here to work. BS! They are here to take everything they can get! Its no different than annout of work white person who breaks into your home, and stays for as longbas he wants, and just takes whatever he can get. You stupid enough to feed him? Give him money? To tell him to go get his family and they can stay and mooch off your hard work also????? WELL???? ARE YOU??!!
