Vista Murrieta’s JT McLellan picked up his sixth win of the season as the Broncos rolled over Chaparral 6-3 Tuesday afternoon in front of delighted home team fans. The victory keeps the Broncos in the hunt for a CIF SS Playoff spot. The top three teams in the league have automatic playoff berths.

Chaparral scored one in the second and another in the third to take a 2-1 lead. The Broncos rallied back to load the bases in their half of the third. They scored twice against Puma starter Marc Saucedo on a walk and wild pitch to go ahead 3-2. The Broncos would score three more in the fifth and the game ended 6-3 and the Broncos won their fifth consecutive game.

The Broncos Hunter Tidwell scored three of Vista Murrieta’s run going 2-for-3with a stolen base. Angel Ortiz hit two doubles, scored twice and had stole a base in the game. JT McLellan and Jack Moeberg had two RBIs apiece.

Vista Murrieta will end the regular season at Chaparral on Thursday. Game time is 3:30pm.
