The Nighthawks cruised to their ninth consecutive victory in league play Tuesday with a convincing 4-1 win over Temecula Valley. Senior Olivia Sanchez struck out eleven and scattered five hits over seven innings to pick up her eighth victory of the season for Murrieta Valley.

Sanchez was also the offensive star of the game, hitting two home runs to power the Nighthawks past the Golden Bears. Stephanie Moreno also homered for Murrieta Valley. Valerie Ferro and Amber Bishop had two hits against Temecula Valley.

Murrieta scored twice in the first inning and added another in the second and scored an insurance run in the sixth. The Golden Bears only run came in their half of the fifth inning.

The Nighthawks will close out the at home on Thursday and would like to end the season undefeated and add to their 10 game winning streak as they move into the CIF SS Playoffs. Great Oak, Vista Murrieta and Chaparral are all locked up in a tie for second with 5-4 records.
