Lake Elsinore: Sheriff's deputies arrest man in connection with motorsports park burglary

RIVERSIDE COUNTY SHERIFF PRESS RELEASE - On May 22, 2014 at 10:00 am, Officers from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff Station responded to a report of a burglary at the Lake Elsinore Motor Sport Park. During their investigation, they learned a burglary occurred during the early morning hours on May 23rd. Several appliances, tools, helmets, electronic equipment, and I-Pads were stolen at a value of $4000.

Details discovered during the investigation led the officers into the city of Corona. The suspect, Gabriel Lucero, of Wildomar was arrested and the stolen I-Pads were recovered. The remaining property was also later recovered and returned to the Motorsport Park. A second suspect may have been involved and is currently outstanding.

Anyone with any information related to the burglary is encouraged to contact Officer Provost at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff Station.

The Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park lost property worth more than $4,000 in a burglary, and one suspect remained behind bars today.

Sheriff's deputies went to the Cereal Street location Thursday and were told the burglary happened earlier that day. Tools, helmets, electronic equipment and iPads had been taken, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Steve Brosche said.

An investigation led deputies to a location in Corona later that day, where the stolen iPads were recovered. The other property was also recovered and a second suspect is believed to be at large, Brosche said.

Gabriel Patrick Lucero, 33, of Wildomar was arrested and booked for suspicion of second degree burglary, receiving stolen property and other violations.

Lucero remained in custody today in lieu of $5,000 bail, records showed.
