The Lake Elsinore Storm fell behind early and never recovered, losing 6-2 to the Lancaster JetHawks on Wednesday night.

Zach Eflin (L, 5-3) allowed a first inning score but kept the JetHawks off the board for the next three innings. The righty finished five innings and allowed two runs on seven hits.

After a fruitless first four innings, the Storm managed to score in the bottom of the fifth. Hunter Renfroe doubled to lead off the home half and moved to third on a fly out. Gabriel Quintana dribbled a swinging bunt down the third base line that allowed Renfroe to score.

A scoreless sixth from both sides gave way to a forgettable seventh. A four-run top of the seventh, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Carlos Correa, put Lancaster up 6-1. It was Correa's fifth long ball of the season.

Lake Elsinore added a run in the bottom of the eighth thanks to Corey Adamson's seventh double of 2014, but that would be all from the offense in a 6-2 defeat.

Correa finished the night with three knocks, and has now recorded 18 hits against the Storm. Lead-off man Tony Kemp, who came across for three of the six 'Hawks runs in the game, has scored 20 times in fourteen games.

The Storm loss drops them into a tie for first place with the JetHawks, who have won eight of ten games at The Diamond.

Colin Rea (5-2, 3.33 ERA) will try and right the ship for Lake Elsinore (32-22) tonight, while Chris Devenski (1-5, 4.74 ERA) gets the ball for Lancaster (32-22). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
