Bail was set today for the Riverside woman accused of backing her car over her father as he stood in his driveway and begged her not to drive away in a drunken anger.

Soukvilay Lucky Barton, 37, remained jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail from Friday night's death of her 69-year-old father.

Police said the man, Bounmy Rajsombath, had been pleading with Barton not to drive while she was drunk, when he was hit by a BMW convertible in reverse gear.

Dispatchers received a call at 6:18 p.m. and sent city of Riverside Police officers to 14010 Bush Ave. Witnesses told officers that Barton had been Advertisement

drinking and arguing with relatives, and was planning to leave the home in her 2003 BMW convertible, city of Riverside police Sgt. Dan Reeves said.

Rajsombath stood in back of Barton's luxury car that was parked in the family garage in an attempt to keep her from driving. But Barton backed out and struck her father in the driveway, Reeves said.

Rajsombath was taken to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries and later died, Reeves said.

Barton was arrested and later booked for suspicion of felony gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony drunken driving causing great bodily injury and other charges, records showed.
