Temecula: 2-year-old boy in serious condition following near-drowning at residential pool

A 2-year-old boy was alive but suffered serious injuries after he nearly drowned at residential swimming pool in Temecula, authorities said today.

Firefighters were dispatched at 3:41 p.m. Saturday to the 43100 block of Vista Del Rancho about the incident.

yanked the toddler out of the water and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him by the time firefighters arrived, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.

The boy was breathing and was taken to a hospital where he was listed in serious condition, Hagemann said.

Our prayers go out to the child for a speedy recovery. May the Lord provide peace to the parents. With four kids we know what it's like to be vigilant, yet they can escape for a minute and that's all it takes sometimes.
