The Lake Elsinore Storm dropped their second consecutive game Wednesday, losing 11-1 to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

Rancho got on the board for five in the first and never looked back. The Quakes added two in the third and four in the sixth to take a substantial lead.

The only Storm score came in the bottom of the first. Mallex Smith walked, stole second and third and later scored on a groundout. Smith stole three bases in the game.

Tyron Guerrero and catcher Jeremy Rodriguez, who worked the ninth inning, were the only Storm pitchers who did not allow a run.

With the loss, Lake Elsinore (62-47) fell out of first place while Rancho Cucamonga (55-54) gained sole possession of the top spot.

The Storm travel to Lancaster tomorrow for the first of four with the Jethawks. Colin Rea (9-5, 3.51 ERA) gets the start for Lake Elsinore while Lancaster's starter has yet to be determined. First pitch is set for 6:30pm.
