Homeless man in wheelchair beaten to death in Riverside

A homeless man in a wheelchair, known for asking for spare change, was beaten to death outside a Riverside barber shop early today.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 4:35 a.m. about the victim and sent police to a business complex in the 3300 block of Iowa Avenue.

at the scene, Riverside police Sgt. David Amador said.

The victim's name was not released pending notification of relatives. He was known to have frequented the area in his wheelchair, asking patrons for spare change, Amador said.

Police asked anyone who has information about the killing to call Detective Mike Medici at (951) 353-7104 or Detective Adrian Tillett at (951)-353-7105.

Whoever is responsible for doing this,to a harmless man with one leg in a wheelchair aught to be ashamed of themselves let alone feel like a f.... coward. I hope your caught and punished beyond.

I am sorry, but "they aught to be ashamed of themselves"? They should get lethal injections after rotting in prison for 10 years. They deserve worse, but our system couldn't handle taking 'em out and hanging them like we did here 120 years ago.
