The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped today for the 31st consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.887, its lowest amount since Feb. 27.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has decreased 26.2 cents during the streak, including 1 cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

than one month ago and 7.2 cents below what it was one year ago.

The 31-day streak is the longest since a 40-day streak from Sept. 19-Oct. 28, 2013. The current streak was immediately preceded by 11 increases in 14 days which pushed the average price to its highest amount since May 19.

"An improving supply situation combined with typical downward trends during the end of summer has brought continued price drops," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
