No matter how big your home is… when there’s clutter, space is at a premium. So making the most of yours is important! Luckily, we’ve got some easy home organization ideas that will help reduce the stress and make your place look great:

• Say goodbye. It’s time to clear out the clutter and get rid of anything you don’t need. By all means, keep the sentimental things. Otherwise, a good rule of thumb is if you haven’t worn or used it in the past 12 months, it’s time to go. Be sure to donate your old items to a charity or thrift store.

• Add storage pieces. You’ll need some new storage for all the items that you decided to hang on to. Bookcases, cubes and shelving are the perfect places to put stylish storage boxes, books, decorative pieces, pictures, plants and just about anything else you can think of. In the bedroom, benches, trundle beds or poster beds with built-in storage underneath are also great home organization tools that free up more space.

• Organize your pictures. If you have more photos than you know what to do with, why not create a picture wall? Design a feature wall by hanging a variety of framed pictures and clustering them together on a central wall. Advertisement

Selecting photos, prints, mirrors, and paintings that hold personal meaning to you is a simple home organization tip that will make your space even more meaningful—and it gives you material to talk about when entertaining!

• Go through your paperwork. Messy paperwork is something that can quickly get out of hand. Spilling out of your home office and into your kitchen, living room table, or worse… your bedroom. Sort through each item and determine whether it’s something you want to toss or keep. When you’ve narrowed it down to your "keep" stack, go through each piece of paper and organize them into a storage cabinet. Choose a corner desk to tuck away even more items, while opening up more space in your home office.

*Give your space a new look. Now that your home is more organized, why not reward yourself with a few decorative home accessories? It’s a quick and easy way to add a splash of color and flair to any room while accenting your home’s decor. Add a new rug, wall art or lamp—or maybe some colorful pillows, bedding, throws and other decorative accessories. You’ll find plenty of great designs at affordable prices.

These simple home organization ideas allow you to maximize your space, cut down on stressful clutter and stay organized.
