91 Freeway shuts down Saturday night

The 91-Freeway between Central and University Avenues will be temporarily shut down in both directions tonight. Road crews will be removing the Ivy Street Bridge. Travelers are advised to make alternate plans.

The westbound section of the freeway will close at 11 p.m. and eastbound stretch of the 91-Freeway will close at midnight. Caltrans officials said both directions would reopen by 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

the 14th Street off-ramp, turn right and then left on Market Street/Magnolia Avenue. Motorists should turn left again onto the westbound Central Avenue on- ramp, Caltrans officials said.

Drivers going east can take the Central Avenue off-ramp, turn left and then turn right on Market Street/Magnolia Avenue to the eastbound 14th Street on-ramp.

The $232 million six-mile widening project will add a carpool lane in each direction from Adams Street to the 60/91/215 freeway interchange in Riverside. Completion is slated for next year.
