The Riverside County coroner's office today released the name of a man who was fatally struck by a moving full-size car as he walked on a Hemet street.

He was 36-year-old Synecca Robinson of Hemet, who was struck at about 9:40 p.m. Friday by a Chrysler 300.

Dispatchers received a 911 call from the driver of the car, who reported he struck the pedestrian in the 600 block of south Sanderson Avenue.

Hemet police Sgt. Dan Reinbolt said.

The fatal incident occurred in between Acacia Avenue and Wentworth Drive. The man wore a white T-shirt as he walked in the roadway rather than on the dirt shoulder on the east side of Sanderson Avenue, Reinbolt said.

The driver of the luxury car was heading north at 35 to 45 mph on Sanderson Avenue and reported seeing a "flash of white" when the car hit the man. Drunken driving was not suspected and the road was shut down for about three hours until officers reopened it at 1 a.m., Reinbolt said.
