MURRIETA - A convicted felon accused of robbing a Temecula homeowner at gunpoint pleaded not guilty today to felony charges.

Stephen Richard Sethman, 39, of Temecula was arrested last week in connection with a home-invasion robbery in the 47000 block of Shady Oaks Lane.

Sethman was charged with robbery, burglary and sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations.

Sethman appeared today before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Judith Clark, who appointed him a public defender before taking his plea, then scheduled a felony settlement conference in the case for Tuesday.

Sethman remains held in lieu of $190,000 bail at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

Sheriff's officials allege that Sethman confronted Advertisement

a resident of Shady Oaks Lane the morning of Aug. 25, threatening the man with a handgun before forcing his way inside the house.

Sethman allegedly ordered the victim to stay inside his bathroom and proceeded to ransack the place. Sheriff's Sgt. Dean Spivacke said Sethman fled in a vehicle, taking a number of valuables from the house.

Based on information from the victim and evidence collected at the location, investigators identified Sethman, who was arrested without incident at his home on Bridgeview Circle three days later.

Court records indicate Sethman has a prior conviction for which he served time in prison, though the exact nature of the offense was not disclosed.

So what is going on with this.?.?.? I saw the bail was increased to $1,000,000.00. Looks like this guy is not going anywhere! I wonder if that has to do with the fact that this will be his 3rd Strike!! He did the same type of felony burglary in LA a few years ago and has another felony for possession and sales of meth. Wonder if anyone else close to him has a similar record??? Hopefully this time they will keep him in prison and off the streets for a very long time!!
