Rotating closures planned on freeway connector ramps in Murrieta area next week

Rotating closures are planned next week on connector ramps linking Interstates 15 and 215 in Murrieta as crews install new equipment to monitor traffic flow and volume.

According to Caltrans, installations are scheduled on the southbound I-215 bridge to I-15, and the northbound I-15 connector to I-215, for five consecutive nights beginning Monday.

The ramps will not be shut down at the same time, officials said. However the closures could occur anytime between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., for unknown durations. Detours will be in effect.

The work is part of a $6.6 million rehab that began in June...
