Austin Smith graduates basic training

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, SAN ANTONIO, Texas – U.S. Air Force Airman Austin L. Smith graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.

Smith is the son of Debbie and Kurt Eikmeier of Menifee and the grandson of Edward and Joanna Causley of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He is also the brother of Audrey Smith and husband of Ashley Schofield.

linkThe airman is a 2017 graduate of Paloma Valley High School in Menifee.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force.
