Concert goers at this weekend’s LeAnn Rimes concert at Galway Downs can expect an “exceptional experience,” organizers said.

“We are really happy to have someone like LeAnn Rimes with her experience and capability coming to Galway is exciting,” Galway Downs owner Ken Smith said.

Tickets are still available for the concert, and start at only $19.95. The concert is the second in the ongoing “Rhythm at the Downs” concert series and features singer songwriter Matt Ellis.

Rimes, best known for her haunting voice and powerful lyrics, along with her positive outlook on life has helped her to become one of music’s most beloved artists.

“I don’t know what it is. I feel like honestly, the more I grow as an artist and as a human being, I know how to connect with people when I go and perform,” the 35-year-old singer songwriter said when asked about her staying power.

Rimes, who took the world by storm at the young age of 13, with her 1996 album “Blue,” said she has always been connected to her emotions and able to pull those emotions through her music.

“When I am in that studio singing, it is just an emotion that comes through me and out of me. I have always been able to connect that way, since I was a kid, even when I didn’t know what the songs were about.”

Rimes, who has won two Grammy Awards; 12 Billboard Music Awards; two World Music Awards; three Academy of Country Music Awards; one Country Music Association Award and one Dove Award, believes that those things to which her songs speak, are important to people, which is a big reason for her success.

“We all have a different perception of life from our experiences,” she explained. “It’s amazing what music can do and how it connects people and how it connects people to moments in their life.”

An internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter, Rimes is expected to perform her newest #1 hit dance single “LovE is LovE is LovE” and many other fan favorites.

“Galway Downs is a very unique place especially in the village where the amphitheater is and it’s a very intimate setting,” Smith said. “Then you add someone like LeAnn Rimes to perform and entertain folks and frankly, it’s very exciting.”

Adding to the excitement of the concert is the addition of Ellis. Based in Los Angeles, Ellis is best known for his unique brand of Americana music featuring such singles as “the Greatest Escape,” “River too Wide” and “Different Man.”

Ellis, along with his music partner Paul Chesne, recently released their debut single “They Don’t Make ‘em Like They Used To.” The song is now available online everywhere.

“I am really excited about what LeAnn Rimes and Matt Ellis are going to do,” Smith said. “For me it’s really exciting, to see this kind of talent at the Downs. It makes for an exceptional experience.”

Concert goers can expect beautiful weather as well as plethora of activities during the concert, Smith said.

“We will have food, drinks and great entertainment,” he said. “It’s going to be an exceptional experience. It’s all about this moment in time that you can have in life.”

Don’t miss Rimes and Ellis in their “One Night Only” performance at Galway Downs Sunday, Nov. 5. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the concert beginning at 6 p.m.
