Hemet man arrested as suspect in robberies following vehicle chase

A 31-year-old man was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 14, in connection with a series of robberies after leading Hemet police on a chase in a reportedly carjacked vehicle, police officials say.

Anthony Miguel Screws was arrested on suspicion of several counts of robbery, carjacking and felony probation violation, according to a Hemet police news release.

Police say they received a call shortly before 8:30 p.m. that a man had stolen someone's car at gun point in a parking lot at 220 North Sanderson Avenue.
