7 displaced, sheriff's deputy hospitalized following Lake Elsinore house fire

Seven people were displaced and one Riverside County sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized early Thursday morning, Nov. 16, following a house fire in Lake Elsinore.

Firefighters received a report of a single family home on fire with people trapped about 6:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Avenue 9, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release.

A Riverside County sheriff’s deputy was in the area and was able to get the residents out of the home. The deputy was evaluated by paramedics and taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation, fire officials said.
