Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries Friday, Nov. 17, after a crash between a passenger vehicle and an off-road vehicle, fire and sheriff's officials said.

The incident happened about 4:35 p.m. in the 59000 block of Everett Road, according to a Riverside County Fire Department news release.

Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez said the collision occurred between a vehicle, possibly a pickup truck, and an all terrain vehicle.

Two men who had been riding the off-road vehicle suffered injuries, Vasquez said. They were taken to a nearby hospital by helicopter, fire officials said.

The cause of the crash was still being investigated Friday evening.

Vasquez encouraged witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to contact the sheriff's department at 951-776-1099.
