AGUANGA – Famed metal sculptor Ricardo Breceda announced he will have an open house at his sculpture garden Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18-19, at 44450 State Route 79, just east of the Stagecoach Inn in Aguanga.

The garden that displays hundreds of tin sculptured, life-size prehistoric animals, historic people and events will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days. Visitors are invited to bring picnic lunches and enjoy views of the garden under the shade grass-covered huts on the grounds.

Breceda’s sculptures have brought international attention to his tin life-sized creations seen along the Borrego Springs Highway in the desert and along SR-79 where his metal horses seem to be jumping over the highway. A sculpture of life-sized stagecoach with a team of horses pulling it is a hit attraction with motorists, along with prehistoric creatures like the12-foot high tin tyrannosaurus rex and stegosauruses.

Guests will be able to meet the artist and learn about the techniques and ideas he uses to create his art pieces.
