MURRIETA - Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, R-Lake Elsinore, and Sen. Jeff Stone, R-La Quinta, are extending an open invitation to residents countywide to join them Thursday for a "Christmas & Holiday Party" in Murrieta, where they'll be collecting toys for underprivileged children and speaking with constituents about whatever they wish.

"This event is a great opportunity for everyone to have a chance to meet and mingle with their elected officials," Melendez said. "Senator Stone and I look forward to having good conversations with all who are able to make it."

The get-together, scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Murrieta Spectrum on Madison Avenue, will feature food and music. The legislators are seeking toy donations for children in need this holiday season.

No RSVP is needed to attend. Just show up, according to Melendez.
